FSC

We’re proud to be a FSC® Chain of Custody Certified company. By holding an FSC® certification we can guarantee our paper and cardboard products come from sustainable sources, certified against strict environmental and social values.

What is FSC®?

FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®) is an international non-profit organisation that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests. It was founded in 1993, providing a certification system for sustainable forestry practices in response to public concern about deforestation and demand for an international wood-labelling and chain of custody scheme.

How does FSC certification work?

Forests undergo thorough examinations and attain certification through strict standards. Independent accreditation organisations conduct these inspections and grant certificates on FSC’s behalf. To achieve certification, a forest must demonstrate primarily sustainable and environmentally sound management practices as well as adhering to rigorous human rights criteria. This distinctive aspect of the FSC certification process ensures that a forest is not only environmentally well-managed but also meets high humanitarian standards.

Chain of Custody

The FSC Chain of Custody (CoC) is a certification process ensuring the traceability of wood and wood-based products from responsibly managed forests. Companies in the supply chain, from sawmills to retailers, seek certification by implementing systems to track FSC-certified material through their operations. They maintain detailed records, physically separate certified and non-certified materials, and undergo independent audits to verify compliance. Successfully certified companies can label their products with the FSC logo, assuring consumers that the product originates from environmentally and socially responsible forests, encouraging sustainable sourcing and responsible consumption.
